It's popular free web server Apache 1.3.31 integrated with PHP 4.3.8 and mod_perl. There is many additional modules compiled in (mp3, report, throttle and so on). I'm running it for 5 months and it seems very stable. You can run newest apps on it (tested : phpmyadmin, plenty of cms nuke systems, e107, phpbb ...). This is not a package, just archived distribution, including all (I hope) necessary to run files. It's intented as an upgrade for previous apache packages. Integrating apache with your freesco is a "big" operation, be careful! Do not "install" it, if you don't know what you're doing !!! If you don't need new functionality, please choose some other apache package with automated installation! I'm looking for someone, who will make packages out of this compilation. rattkin |

Based on BBClone (http://bbclone.tuxfamily.org) I have made this package for freesco. The only requirements are aprox. 1.3Mb diskspace (only the English language files are included in the tarball, if you want other languages as well more diskspace is required) and a PHP enabled HTTPD server (i.e. Apache or thttpd + PHP). Installation ------------ It's NOT a package, just a tarball, so follow these steps: cd /www snarf $URL/bbclone.tar.gz tar -zxvf bbclone.tar.gz rm bbclone.tar.gz where $URL is the URL where you've found this package, i.e. http://dingetje.homeip.net/packages if you want to use the author's link. Now point your browser to http://your.freesco.ip/bbclone/index.html The index.html page is just added so you'll end up with a referer in the test.php script. The test.php shows what code you'll need to add to a PHP page to get it counted. That's also the disadvantage of this counter, it only can be added in PHP pages. Enjoy P.S. I've made so many changes, that I renamed this BBclone version to 0.21 [freesco], I hope you don't mind. |

Unzip this file and copy codered.cgi in freesco to: " mnt\router\wwa\cgi\ " YES to \wwa\cgi NOT \www\cgi that would make it public. Then type: chmod 755 mnt\router\wwa\cgi\codered.cgi Open a browser and launch this url: http://freesco-router:adminport/cgi/codered.cgi?help Example: http://192.168.1.1:82/cgi/codered.cgi?help If you like to customize the script: Open codered.cgi in your editor and change the setup options. NOTE: This script is for Apache webserver. If you do not have Apache as a webserver but the default thttpd read this: Modify the /rc/rc_httpd file. Change: thttpd -p $WWWPORT -u nobody -d /www -l /www/logs/thttpd.log 'Amper Amper' $DONE Now setup the codered.cgi by the line: WORMLOG="/mnt/router/packages/apache/logs/access_log" and change is in the path of your choice. in this case: WORMLOG="/mnt/router/www/logs/thttpd.log" |

CVS is the Concurrent Versions System, the dominant open-source network-transparent version control system. CVS is useful for everyone from individual developers to large, distributed teams: * Its client-server access method lets developers access the latest code from anywhere there's an Internet connection. * Its unreserved check-out model to version control avoids artificial conflicts common with the exclusive check-out model. * Its client tools are available on most platforms. This is not a package, just archived distribution, including all (I hope) necessary to run files. You need inetd daemon to run cvs. Config files are included. I've noticed some issues with connection closing, but cannot resolve the problem. Except this, all is stable. You can even use it with some cvs-oriented applications like WinCVS or Eclipse IDE. Do not "install" it, if you don't know what you're doing !!! I'm looking for someone, who will make packages out of this compilation. rattkin |

It's a kind of super-server / proxy / converter. HTTP, NNTP, FTP proxy / cache / server with conversions (e.g. HTTP access to any NNTP content), lots of options, port-forwarding, all sorts. See the website for details. Not a package but a .zip file with one (large) executable and one .txt with example usage. Manuals / source etc. http://www.delegate.org/ Whoops! Left out the copyright notice. I have actually noticed that a lot of people are leaving out the licenses for most freesco packages. I think we should all be careful to avoid any sort of problems, in case they cause trouble for Freesco as a whole. |

The Linux DialD monitor, keeps networked users informed of dial-up status on the router and allows them to block, force or take the connection up and down from a remote computer. Archive includes the Linux server (to be installed on the Freesco machine) and the Windows client. Windows 3.1 and Linux clients can be downloaded with the source code from the Diald home page: http://www.quaking.demon.co.uk/dialmon.html Compiled by a Freesco forum member (Laurens) from the original source code. Eggdrop is a popular IRC bot. You can use it as a session for your nickname, trivia bot, channel operator, war bot and so on. It's based on TCL scripting language and you can extend its functionality by downloading scripts from eggdrop sites. I've included some most interesting. Some oidentd daemon may be needed to run eggdrop. Please remember not to run eggdrop as root (security issue!). Use 'sudo' tool to run it at router booting time. The starting lines in rc_eggdrop will look following : DIR=`pwd` cd /mnt/router/packages/eggdrop sudo -H -b -u bot ./eggdrop 2> /dev/null >> /dev/null cd $DIR This is not a package, just archived distribution, including all (I hope) necessary to run files. Do not "install" it, if you don't know what you're doing !!! For mor information, read eggdrop documentation. I'm looking for someone, who will make packages out of this compilation. rattkin |

warning: if you like support, don't use this version. OK, I made this a while ago, it seems to work OK. I don't plan to support it much, if it works - great!, of it doesn't - sorry in theory it should function identically to the standard 0.2.7 disk assuming your floppy disk/drive can work reliably with that format. I've noticed that some browsers (or proxies?) decompress this file during download, if your copy is 1.68MB then you may remove the .gz extension or write it direct to disk. If it's smaller than 1.68MB (around 1.3MB) then you must decompress first. (or the download is broken) PLEASE: DO NOT post support requests for this version on the main forum. Also note, many of the package install scripts won't install even though you have an extra 300kb disk space, that's because they check what the boot device is rather than free space in /mnt/, in that case you will need to rewrite the install script to workaround, once again - that's your problem. |

FREESCO Time Client for Windows This application can be used to synchronize the PC clock with the time on a FREESCO server. I know eco has made something like this, but as I understand it the setup is somewhat difficult and its my believe that his package does not contain everything to get it to work (e.g. the freesco script is missing). I would very much like to have some feedback from people in different time zones and window versions if its working as expected. Requirements -FREESCO server -Control HTTP and Time server must be enabled (see section below) -preferably install the freetime package (can be obtained from this server or FREESCOSoft) -Windows client Should work on Win9x, WinNT and Win2K and WinXP. Feedback would be appreciate! User should have privilege to set the local time (See note below). Setup on FREESCO server --Make sure the Control HTTP and Time server are enabled, if not, then enable it. The host Time server can be any public available NTP server. See http://www.eecis.udel.edu/~mills/ntp/servers.htm for a list. --Reboot FREESCO if required. --Install the time.cgi script. (Since this script is so simple, just copy and paste it from this page) Do the following cd /wwa/cgi mkdir time cd time Save the text between the dotted lines in a text file called time.cgi in the newly created directory /wwa/cgi/time on your FREESCO server. ------------------- #!/bin/sh . /etc/system.cfg D=`/bin/date --utc +%s` echo $D,$TIMZONE ------------------- --Then do: chmod +x time.cgi --Typing time.cgi should print two numbers on your FREESCO console. This completes the server setup, so now setup a client and test if it works. The cgi file may be included in the .zip file, by this time. Setup on client --Download the client software --Unzip in some appropriate directory (where you want it to stay) --Double click the executable --Now click on the Settings... button: Use this to setup *at least* the IP address of your FREESCO box. I also recommend to enable the 'Verbose' option for the first attempt. Click OK to save the settings. -- Notes This program has been tested on a Win2K and Win98 PC. For WinNT/Win2K this program can only be run by users that have the privilege to control the clock. This can be tested fairly simple by double clicking on the clock icon on the taskbar. When you get the clock/timezone control dialog you have the required privilege. If you want to start this client when windows starts, add a shortcut to the FreeTimeClient.exe in your windows Startup group. |

I have decided to make the sources for my FreeTimeClient (sync PC clock with time on FREESCO server) available to anyone who wants them. You can download the M$ Visual Studio 6.x C++ project from: I will *not* assist if you run into troubles building the sources i.e. you're on your own! |

FReport was designed particularly for the "Newbies" who may be having problems getting their "report.txt" from the FREESCO Router and onto their Windows Computer, ready to attach to a forum posting. However it is handy for anyone, as you do not have to login in with a telnet program, or the HTML interface. Providing you can ping to and from the Router and your Win computer, then FReport rapidly displays your report file, and allows you to save it to the folder of your choice. FReport is a stand-alone executable, that runs under Windows(9x-00), and can be run from within the zip archive. (No install necessary)! |

This is for you, if ... A) You have a Basic ADSL internet account with XS4all in the Netherlands and you have more than 1 pc which you want to connect to the internet using this account. B) You know your static IP adres that you recieve from XS4All. C) You have a PC (386 or better) with 2 (preferably) PCI networkcards and a 3,5" floppydrive that you want to use as a router. (NOTE: this will also work if you have ISA networkcards, but than it won't be as simple) D) You don't know enough about Linux to get any of the free Linux floppy routers available on the internet to work for you or.. E) You simply don't want to figure out all of the configuration options (you have no time for that or your just plain lazy |

Not a package! Just a tarball with the gzip and gunzip modules for the Apache web server. Using these modules offer a significant reduction in the data transfer between your Apache server and attached clients. Installation: cd /www snarf http://[URL]/gzip_gunzip_mod.tar.gz cd / tar -zxvf /www/gzip_gunzip_mod.tar.gz (Where URL is the domain name of the download location) This should unpack the tarball and add two files mod_gzip.so and mod_gunzip.so in the directory /mnt/router/packages/apache/libexec After this you'll need to edit your httpd.conf file and restart Apache to activate one of the modules. |

This is an IRC server, for those who don't know. I've compiled it for Freesco and it appears to work. Comes with full services NickServ [password-protect and reserve certain nicknames] MemoServ [send other users memo's] ChanServ [register your own channels for your own use without any sort of "approval"] OperServ [for IRC operators to ban you after you register too many channels and nicknames ] |

ISA Plug 'n' Play tools available http://www.roestock.demon.co.uk/isapnptools/ These tools allow Plug 'n' Play Ethernet cards (and other ISA PnP cards) to be configured under Linux to any available IRQ and I/O port number, after which they can be used as if they were hard-coded to those values. This allows experienced users to skip the part of Freesco installation that requires you to jumper the Ethernet cards to a specific IRQ and port or use their supplied drivers to take them out of PnP mode. Be warned that configuring these utilities is not easy and can easily crash your machine. The site links to source code but also includes pre-built binaries for DOS and Linux. Theoretically, either version is just as good as the other for Freesco use (you can use the DOS versions in the batch file that loads Freesco before the loadlin statement) but the Linux versions are smaller and can be made to fit onto a floppy (using UPX). These binaries are available from the above site in a precompiled Freesco-compatible form in the isapnptools-n.nn-bin.tar.gz file, where n.nn is the latest version number of isapnptools. This file will also include the complete source code as well as binaries for DOS (called isapnp.exe and pnpdump.exe) and Linux (called isapnp and pnpdump). Purely for convenience, the compiled versions of just isapnp and pnpdump v1.26 for Linux is one download file and the complete download from above site is the other download file. |

MLdonkey is a powerful peer 2 peer (p2p) application for accessing the Edonkey2000 network as well as a few others like FastTrack, Bittorrent and Gnutella2. The opensource MLdonkey p2p client is mainly being developed for Linux/Unix, but is also compiled and running on Windows and even MacOS X. I've compiled almost every net - ed2k, fasttrack, dc, slsk, bittorrent and so on. It's very useful. This is not a package, just archived distribution, including all (I hope) necessary to run files. Do not "install" it, if you don't know what you're doing !!! Please refer to the documentation when searching for telnet and www ports. Dont forget to allow your ip in config file! I'm looking for someone, who will make packages out of this compilation. rattkin |

On request I've compiled the linux update client for http://www.no-ip.com/ It's a (free) dynamic IP DNS service. I've not made a package for it, it's just a tarball. Requirements ------------ - libc.so.5 (e.g. lewy-lib) - a login account at http://www.no-ip.com (email + password) - GNU tar (must support -z option, e.g. install one of the utils packages) - this package (duh) - a few minutes to configure I Configuration ------------- ./no-ip.sh answer the questions, make sure to answer N to the NAT question (it is for people that are behind a firewall not ON a firewall, and provide the script with the network interface with your external IP address. Sample config run: ------------------ [Linux] no-ip.sh Greetings! The no-ip dynamic DNS system requires a configuration file. The answers to the next five questions will build one. What is your email address for no-ip.com? (name@email.addr) webmaster@dingetje.homeip.net What is the password for the login account? (password) XXXXXXXX Are you using a groupname instead of a host.domain.name? (Y/N) Answer 'N' if you do not understand the question. N What is the host.domain.name you are using? (host.no-ip.com) dingetje.hopto.org answer N to the next question for FREESCO! Do you have a router which uses NAT/masquerading? (Y/N) N Which device is your net connection? (one of: lo dummy eth0 eth1 eth1 ppp0 ) eth0 Configuration file [./no-ip.conf] updated. When the config file is written, you can start/test the program with: ./noip -c no-ip.conf -l -d (use specific config, list to stderr, debug mode) Sample run: ----------- [Linux] noip -c no-ip.conf -l -d ! A webmail program that runs on Freesco without need for sendmail or anything. Users can retrieve POP3 mail and send mail using SMTP from a web interface. Untar it into /www Make sure permissions are set to: 755 for /www/cgi/webmail.cgi 644 for /www/webmail/{all files and the directory} Then go to: http://router.inet/cgi/webmail.cgi (Where router.inet is the domain name of the Freesco machine). Make sure the public http server is accessible at least in 's' mode (you don't want just anyone running this script from a web server :-] ) It defaults to "localhost" as the POP3 / SMTP server, this is compiled in with "NullWebmail", I'm afraid, and I'm too lazy to write routines to read from a config file. You are just going to have to type in your ISP's SMTP / POP3 servers manually each time. Sorry. This should be considered UNSUPPORTED (especially by the nullwebmail author as I've had to make changes to the code). I might be able to help with small problems. Original website is HERE http://nullwebmail.sourceforge.net/ |

OpenSSH is a FREE version of the SSH/SecSH protocol suite of network connectivity tools that increasing numbers of people on the Internet are coming to rely on. (The same function as sshd mentioned above.) Many users of telnet, rlogin, ftp, and other such programs might not realize that their password is transmitted across the Internet unencrypted, but it is. OpenSSH encrypts all traffic (including passwords) to effectively eliminate eavesdropping, connection hijacking, and other network-level attacks. This version of sshd supports ssh2 as well as ssh1 and scp. This is not a package, just archived distribution, including all (I hope) necessary to run files. Do not "install" it, if you don't know what you're doing !!! I'm looking for someone, who will make packages out of this compilation. rattkin |

The PCMCIA Card Services let you use PCMCIA network cards and modems with Linux (and therefore Freesco). This is PCMCIA-CS version 3.09. Please read the PCMCIA HOWTO, below, for information on how to use this file. The drivers are compiled as modules and include the utility programs, but some scripts and the documentation are removed. It needs substantial configuration to integrate with Freesco but it can be done. With a bit of squeezing, a few drivers can be put onto a Freesco floppy, too. Source code is available from: ftp://projects.sourceforge.net/pub/pcmcia-cs/OLD/pcmcia-cs-3.0.9.tar.gz The original documentation, HOWTO's, man pages and other extras are available from: http://pcmcia-cs.sourceforge.net/ |

It's new version of ProFTPD (1.2.10). Lot's of stability gained, some new directives. You may need to edit your previous config file. This is not a package, just archived distribution, including all (I hope) necessary to run files. It's intented for upgrading from other packages. Do not "install" it, if you don't know what you're doing !!! I'm looking for someone, who will make package out of this compilation. rattkin |

KDE is probably the most popular desktop environment for Linux today. WebConfig is a plugin for the KDE Control Center which embeds a web browser inside KDE's Control Center. This permits easy incorporation of HTML/Java/JavaScript-based administration tools into the Control Center. The main philosophy behind the Control Panel is to group and organize all local administration tasks into a single application. However, many popular Linux applications, like FREESCO and WWWOFFLE (also available for FREESCO), come with an integrated web based administration tool, i.e. you configure these applications via your browser. Using WebConfig is like having a web browser embedded into the Control Panel. With it you can integrate a wide variety of web based administration tools into a single point of access: the Control Panel. The files you need for a FREESCO control setup are: ( #1 on top #6 at bottom) 1) webconfig-0.6-1.i386.rpm For SuSE 7.x with KDE 2.2 2) webconfig-0.6-1.src.rpm Generic packages, using the rpm format 3) webconfig-freesco-0.6-1.noarch.rpm For SuSE 7.x with KDE 2.2 and Generic packages, using the rpm format 4) webconfig-wwwoffle-0.6-1.noarch.rpm For SuSE 7.x with KDE 2.2 and Generic packages, using the rpm format 5) webconfig-0.6-1.tar.gz Generic packages, tarball format 6) webconfig-icons-0.6-1.tar.gz Generic packages, tarball format |

Portuguese keyboard for Freesco First I was thinking on making a package, but I don't think it's real necessary, because the file it's so small and the way to add it, it's also so easy, that it would be a waste of time and space :). To install in a Telnet or SSH window type this : cd /mnt/router/kbd then : snarf the file pt.gz Reboot and it's done :D ( easy right?? ) To remove in a Telnet or SSH window type this : cd /mnt/router/kbd then : rm pt.gz Reboot and it's done :D ( even more easy right?? ) |

ramdisk (larger) I have made a bigger ramdisk for freesco 0.2.7. its NOT a package. download the file ramdisk and replase the one that is on your floppy or hdd with this one. And make a backup of your old one to be on the safe side. If you did this in freesco then reboot. Size=2817 kb inodes=1024 --- For all clarity, here is one procedure to replace your ramdisk with the new one: 1. boot your freesco as normal if not done so already 2. login as root 3. type these commands: Code Sample cd /mnt/router mv ramdisk ramdisk.old snarf http://thetigger.dyndns.org/tiger/nonpkg/ramdisk (this should download Tiger's ramdisk file and create a new file ramdisk in the local dir. You may want to check that before the final step;) reboot --- If the ramdisk for some reason does not work for you, you can always replace the ramdisk with the ramdisk.old file. This can (must, probably) be done in DOS mode. P.S. The df command of zipslack can be used to verify the # of inodes in your ramdisk. BEFORE: Code Sample [Linux] df -i Filesystem Inodes IUsed IFree %IUsed Mounted on /dev/ram0 376 293 83 78% / AFTER: Code Sample [Linux] df -i Filesystem Inodes IUsed IFree %IUsed Mounted on /dev/ram0 1024 494 530 48% / Note: when attempted with the standard FREESCO df command, you'll get '-i: can't find mount point.' --- Another solution was to Install it from Dos Code Sample at Dos Prompt C:\>rename ramdisk ramdisk.old C:\>A: A:\>copy ramdisk C:\>ramdisk before you install the new ramdisk, type [Linux]free >/mnt/router/www/free1.txt then afterward [Linux]free >/mnt/router/www/free2.txt |

RawWrite for windows Under 95, this program requires diskio.dll, which is included. This program is a replacement for the traditional command line rawrite. This version works under Windows NT 4, 2000, 95, 98 and ME. It should be very easy to use, just select the drive you want to use, select the image file and hit read or write. |

TCP Network File Exchanger: TCPNETExch is a simple HOST/CLIENT application that allows you to share files across your TCP protocol LAN. No SAMBA - No NETbui - No IPX - No NetBios - No MS stuff - just pure old-fashioned TCP. Simply run a copy on both machines (or more), select some folders, whack in a machine IP and a filename or mask, click search and your away. Double click on the files shared to transfer them. TCPNETExch is FREE, just like the FREESCO Linux Router. TCPNETExch is a stand-alone executable, that runs under Windows(9x-00). |

Another Dialmon client for Windows machines. Written from scratch by ledow in Visual Basic, it deliberately contains no code to allow users to control the remote computer (i.e. the router). Using small traffic-light icons inside the system tray, it indicates "Down", "Connecting..." and "Up" status to the user and is designed to be as simple and unobtrusive as possible. May require VB5 runtime DLL's if not already installed. |

Here it is: UpLA, the Uptimes project Look-Alike. It measures the current uptime and has a history of previous uptimes. All uptimes are gathered in the file up-data, which must be put on a php-enabled webserver. By default, ftp is used (in the file uplaput). When you use the Freesco (Apache) server, you might use just cp (I did NOT test it with FREESCO's server though). After the Freesco install, download upla_web.tgz or upla_web.zip from the site mentioned above. It contains upla.php and button.png, which both must be placed on a php-enabled webserver. It has some nice history features. Edit the file /mnt/router/packages/upla/uplaput to fit your needs, and be careful about it's permissions, as it contains username and password of the ftp site! I'm not sure about what it says in uplaput about 'without initial "/" ', so try for yourself. |

This is *NOT* a package! I (dingetje) have found this VPN daemon: http://sunsite.dk/vpnd/ and decided to compile it for possible use on freesco. Mind you, this VPN solution has *nothing* to do with http://www.zyxel.com/support/supportnote/zywall10/faq/vpn_faq.htm This software needs to be setup and running at two ends of an unsecured link. One end will act as a server, the other a client. Data goes encrypted over the line using the http://www.counterpane.com/bfsverlag.html encryption algorithm. The daemon will act as a router between the two connected private LAN's and as such create a VPN. I suggest you read VERY carefully what this is all about on the official homepage. I must also admit that I haven't actually tried to make a VPN using this software, but hey, it's free, it's compiled, what more do you want? Have fun! |

New version of wget downloader. Some new functionality, logs changed. Some handy download scripts included. This is not a package, just archived distribution, including all (I hope) necessary to run files. It's intented for upgrading from other packages. Do not "install" it, if you don't know what you're doing !!! I'm looking for someone, who will make package out of this compilation. rattkin |

FREESCO is such an amazing application but people who are unfamiliar with Linux are often hesitant to use it. I made a couple of modifications and made it available from Windows. It is exactly the same as the regular FREESCO, but it allows you to jump between Windows and FREESCO easily. |

This script lets you view your FREESCO Httpd/apache logfiles in search for Worm virus scans . Copy this file to: /wwa/cgi and do a chmod 755. Type in your browser: http://freescobox:82/cgi/wormhunt.cgi?helplogin as admin and view if you got scanned by the nasty worms. |

Scripts for auto-reconnect when disconnected with MXstream. Unzip xs.zip Place xs-up, xs-down and xs-control in /mnt/router/etc . Place options.adsl and pap-secrets in /mnt/router/ppp . Put your username / ISP code and your password at the places in options.adsl and pap-secrets where they're needed. Remove the login procedure you're using now. Edit /rc/rc_user at the following places: in the section "stopping rc_user" add the line: /mnt/router/etc/xs-down in the section "starting rc_user" add the lines: /mnt/router/etc/xs-up fork /mnt/router/etc/xs-control (use this order). Check the permissions. xs-control logs the disconnects (and reconnects ) to console 6. |

Zip Version 2.3 Unzip Version 5.42 I have a gzipped tarball with a zip + unzip tool for FREESCO. It's not a package but installation is fairly simple: cd /mnt/router/fix snarf http://URL.TO.THE.SITE/zippy.tar.gz tar -zxvf zippy.tar.gz cp unzip zip /bin rm zippy.tar.gz Putting the files in /mnt/router/fix is to have them survive a reboot, since the /bin "lives" on the ram disk.
